Being a Reformed Covenantal church simply means we believe God is sovereign in all things (even salvation) and that He deals with His people through covenant relationships. This covenantal framework is expounded in our doctrinal statements (the Westminster Confession of Faith of 1646, the Westminster Larger Catechism and the Westminster Shorter Catechism). Subordinate to Scripture, the Confession and Catechisms comprise a solid body of theology in compact form we can use to ensure we are ready to give a reason for the hope that is in us (1 Peter 3:15). They clearly and concisely summarize the faith of our church fathers and, in our current era of doctrinal redefinition, are needed more than ever.
Our doctrinal stance and service style most closely match that of the Presbyterian Church of America - the same denomination that well known teachers like R.C. Sproul and the late D. James Kennedy belong to. We are a grounded body of believers joined together by a sincere desire to return to the solid doctrine of the Protestant Reformation.
From the Reformation emerged the "5 Solae", which lay down the foundation of our church's beliefs 1) Sola Scriptura (by Scripture alone), 2) Sola Fide (by faith alone), 3) Sola Gratia (by grace alone), 4) Solus Christus (through Christ alone), 5) Soli Deo Gloria (glory to God alone).
At GCF we are a close knit group of believers from different backgrounds. We have large families in service with their children, medium sized families, couples and singles. Our small size provides for more intimate fellowship; believe it or not we actually get to know one another on a personal level! Children worship with their parents in service; we have no separate Sunday school programs however during the service there is a brief children's lesson pertaining to the sermon. We also provide take-home resources for family Bible study.
Feel free to join us on Sunday or send us an e-mail for more information.
